Points to note
Veteran Dene O’Kane had another great day, highlighted by a win over Basildon star Stuart Bingham to make the quarter-final stage where his run was ended by Ryan Day. Indeed Ryan is doing well, showing no signs of disappointment from his Grand Prix final defeat to make the semi-finals here in Austria. There he will play Pontefract veteran Jimmy Michie who has defeated Peter Ebdon and Alex Borg to progress.
Another man who did well at the Grand Prix was young Judd Trump and again he is having a good tournament here, recording a good 3-0 win over Barry Hawkins in the quarter-finals. Despite leading 2-1 against Matt Selt though, he couldn’t make it two semis in a row and Selt will go on to face Jamie Cope tomorrow.
