Day takes Austrian Open glory

Click here for Austrian Open news…

After a few final disappointments recently, Welshman Ryan finally won one with a 6-4 win over Jamie Cope in Austria…

To view the up to date draw for the event, please see the GSC via the above link. For quick reference though, today’s results are:

Semi-final results:

Jamie Cope 5-3 Matt Selt
Ryan Day 5-3 Jimmy Michie

Final results:

Jamie Cope 4-6 Ryan Day

Information on the event and the final is still limited so I’m not sure how the match unfolded, but I believe that is Ryan’s first title since the 2001 B&H Championship. He will be pleased to win a final having lost in Malta, Shanghai and most recently Glasgow, so will go to the Bahrain Championship full of confidence.

Jamie Cope meanwhile will be pretty happy with the week too, though a second defeat to Ryan Day in as many tournaments won’t please him too much. Still, I suspect that his first professional title isn’t too far away…
