With two of the seven groups completed of the 2009 Championship League, more names have been confirmed for the five remaining groups that will take place over the next couple of months…
After a good four days of action from Crondon Park involving ten of snooker’s top players, several other names have apparently been confirmed for the later groups according to the Global Snooker Centre.
The new players involved and the groups that they will enter are as follows:
Group 3: Neil Robertson, John Higgins and Barry Hawkins
Group 4: Dave Harold, Stuart Bingham and Jamie Cope
Group 5: Matthew Stevens, Ken Doherty and Mark King
Group 7: Ricky Walden
Hopefully the identity of the three players involved in Group 6 and the remaining two with Group seven will come to light soon. It is a measure of how popular the tournament has become that by the end of the tournament, at least 12 of the top 16 will have played in the competition.
