With the 96 main tour players for next season now confirmed, this has given the green light to the organisers of the PIOS to make the draw for the first event of the 2009/10 season which gets underway next Monday…

Of the players relegated from the main tour last season, 11 will be taking part next week (plus Stephen Craigie if he comes through the preliminary round), as they look to re-qualify at the first attempt. Otherwise many of the usual suspects are back again and will be looking to get off to a good start, though as Shokat Ali proved last season, an early event win is by no means enough to guarantee a top eight finish.
