Interesting times ahead… (updated)

A short post to point people in the direction of a couple of newslines as broken by Snooker Scene’s Dave Hendon on his Twitter account…

EDIT: Note you can now view that article here.

The first is an article written by Clive Everton for the Guardian which you can find here. The first paragraph as reproduced below will give you a flavour:

“The annual accounts of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association show that companies connected to two board members – Sir Rodney Walker, its chairman, and Lee Doyle – have been paid substantial commissions in relation to WPBSA contracts. Walker controls Myerscough Developments while Doyle is chairman and a shareholder of 110 Sport Management.”

The second bit of news comes directly from Dave’s Twitter:

“And if that’s not enough you can read on my blog tomorrow why the qualifiers will no longer be streamed on the internet”

Stay tuned to Snooker Scene Blog tomorrow for the full story on that, unfortunate issue…
