As reported by the PA, defending Masters champion Ronnie O’Sullivan will be using a purple cue at this year’s event as part of a promotional campaign with sponsor Premier Inn. Click here to view Ronnie with his new stick and matching clothing. Thumbs up or thumbs down?
As an aside, Dave Hendon has revealed over on Snooker Scene Blog that the players will have music played as they are introduced. Again, thumbs up or thumbs down? Personally that gets a thumbs up from me, certainly can’t do any harm and it will be interesting to see what the players choose…

thumbs up to both questions. it’s not certain that o’sullivan will really play with it, but i think he can’t resist the possibility of having another paragraph in the wikipedia: “…first player ever to play with a purple cue.” so it’s a win-win situation, although he might just lose ‘cos of it.
actually, as it’s one-table sessions, bbc should take the opportunity now to do pre-match interviews. but will they? remains to be seen.

“Rocket in my pocket” (Little Feat) would fit nicely for O’Sullivan

The waistcoat and tie look fine… the cue looks awful, i dont reckon that will get used.. you can tell its not a parris or well made cue, just a gimmick for the photo me thinks,

Music will spice the event up and get the crowd up for it. Will help players personalities shine through a bit more too.
Good suggestion above about the interviews, they work well with Hearns Premier League so why not at the Masters too.
Good news with regards to a sponsor being secured too, even if it is Matchroom Sports main sponsor.
I think the cue looks pretty cool, could be a sign of things to come in the future maybe? Its working well enough for Ronnie today in the Championship League so who knows?
Anyone else feel that suddenly theres a bit of a buzz around the sport again, even though Barrys only been in power a matter of weeks. Im looking forward to going to Sheffield in April, think it will be the best ever fan experience this year.
