As the second half of the ranking event season officially gets underway, the rankings battle at the bottom of the rankings in particular is really beginning to hot up. One thing that must be borne in mind however is the fact that the Welsh Open carries the least amount of ranking points of all the events on the circuit, so perhaps if a player is to lose early once this season, this would be the tournament to do it.
Of tomorrow’s first round matches I am particularly looking forward to see how Xiao Guodong and Michael White get on, as well as Matt Selt and David Gray.
