Betfred.com World Championship 2010: Qualifying Draw

It has been available for a while now but for those of you who have not seen it yet the draw for the 2010 Betfred.com World Championship is online…

Click here to view the draw over at World Snooker. Hopefully I will have it up at PSB in an easier to read format once I work out how to get the extra pre-qualifying matches in!

As you can see, the stand-out potential clash in a last 64 tie between six-times World Championship finalist Jimmy White and 1997 champion of the world Ken Doherty. The two met a few times last season when White had by far the upper hand but Ken is a different player this season and if that match does indeed take place, it could be a cracker.

Elsewhere Judd Trump could face a tough task against another talented young player in the shape of Tom Ford, though Anthony Hamilton will have something to say about that. Liang Wenbo should await Dominic Dale in his final qualifying match while twice former finalist Matthew Stevens could come up against Scot Marcus Campbell.

I am hoping to be at the English Institute for Sport in February/March 2010 so will be able to provide detailed reports as in 2009. I will post a more comprehensive preview closer to the event…
