It is hard to believe given the talent of Neil but up until today his career high break stood at ‘just’ 141, but during the second frame of his last 16 clash against defending champion Peter Ebdon he was able to notch up a memorable maximum.
Although he did go on to lose the match 5-1, Neil does take home the maximum break prize of £20,000 and will head to Sheffield as one of the favourites in my mind. Certainly looking forward to a potential last eight tie with John Higgins at the Crucible…
