Shanghai Masters 2010: Draw Revealed

After weeks of speculation World Snooker have today released the full draw for the season’s first major event, the Shanghai Masters…

  • To view the qualifying draw please click here.
  • To view the last 32 draw please click here.

I will post a full preview on the both the qualifying draw and the last 32 draw in due course but for now the obvious thing to flag up is the expected omission of John Higgins which sees Liu Song enter the draw in his place. There was some confusion caused by the question of who would step up from 65th to 64th in the seedings to take up the last spot in the second round and we now know that it will be James Wattana, not Simon Bedford.

Post your reaction below…

Looking at the third tier of players it must be said that it doesnt look quite so threatening as the previous year. However Steve must be pleased with Rod Lawler as a possible opponent although Barry Pinches could be more of a threat! SD needs to win and kick start his season with a venue as I dont see a last gasp World Championship saving his season again!

SD luck may have turned. In what can only be described as a bizarre draw for the World Open where if your unlucky you get Dott v Robertson or Steve v Ebdon and on the other hand two 64-96 ranked players could make it through to play each other? Can anyone explain this bizarre seeded draw????
