PSB: Changes Afoot!

As those of you who have been reading the blog since the start back in August 2008 will be well aware, while there have been various additions and tweaks to the site, the design has largely remained unchanged since then…

From some time on Monday however, I will be moving the site over to a new theme which will mean that visually at least, the site will take on a different appearance although all of the content and posts since the blog began will remain. This includes your comments and all of the other pages.

There may be a few teething problems such as broken links, images and so on so please do bear with me for the time being as I get to grips with the new set-up and if you do spot any problems or issues that have not quite carried over so well from the current site, please do let me know so I can fix them! I will be at work during Monday afternoon however so may not be around to respond immediately.

While you will have to wait until Monday to see the new look, what I can tell you is that the layout, if not the appearance remains largely unchanged so you should have no problems finding your way around the site.

Importantly, all of the player profiles have now been fully updated up until the start of the UK Championship and on my main players page they will now be displayed in alphabetical order as opposed to ranking due to the new system currently in place.

Another positive move is that the popular provisional seedings table will now be somewhat wider and hopefully easier to follow as a result. Similarly the drawsheets for tournaments will now resemble something like the old Global Snooker Centre draws, losing the photos but having both the qualifying rounds and final stages all on the one page.

There are other things that you will have to wait and see but one thing that I must stress and will do again on Monday is that your feedback is hugely appreciated, whether it be good or bad and I am keen to know what you think can be improved. Unlike the current template which I am not in a position to be able to alter to any degree, I will have more flexibility under the new set-up and better able to react to your feedback.

I am very aware that change is not always something that goes down well (Global Snooker springs to mind), but hope that nobody will be too upset by the new layout!

Thanks for your patience and continued support!
