Welcome to Pro Snooker Blog (again)

If you can see this then you will have made it through to the all-singing, all-dancing new version of PSB. Ok it’s not really all that different but for a heads up as to the changes, please keep reading…

As you can see, aside from the visual changes the site is much the same as it was previously, but nevertheless there are a few changes that are worth flagging up.

First things first, along the very top of the page you will now see a series of squares. These are links to an RSS feed for the blog, my Twitter page, my email contact details, the PSB YouTube page and finally a link to the snooker section of NewsNow, always handy for breaking news.

The next change is the fact that instead of the rather clumsy previous system on pages such as my players page and rankings pages which saw the links to sub-pages posted at the top of the page, the sub-pages are now accessible via drop down links.

RSS, Twitter, Email, YouTube, NewsNow

I am aware that the drop down page for the players page is a bit ridiculous due to the amount of players involved and will shortly be changing this so that the players are on players for A-Z so that should shorten that a little bit. That can wait until after the UK’s though!

As the site is new and everything, some things may be wrong once it has moved over, such as broken links or pictures and so on. As I will not see these problems until the move has been made however we shall just have to see how it goes. If you do spot anything out of the ordinary then please let me know.

As explained on Friday, I have now updated all of the players pages and re-sorted them into alphabetical order which with the new rankings system seems more logical. I have also now changed my tournament drawsheets from this week’s UK Championship though as you can see I have not quite perfected this yet. Should be sorted for the next event anyway.

Drop downs!

You will also notice that I have culled most of the links from the right hand side-bar. Not to worry though, they are all still here, but I have now moved them onto a separate links page.

Overall though that’s probably about it for now. Please bear with me for any initial problems but I very much look forward to hearing your thoughts. For those concerned, an smartphone friendly version is in the pipeline, just bear with me on that one. Indeed more things are in the pipeline but I just wanted this one to go live so I am not juggling between two blogs any longer!

Finally a big thank you to Paul from the SnookerGuide for all of his help with this, and the other people who have advised me on the technical side during the past few weeks.

Thanks.
