A short post this evening to address a question that has been asked by a number of people recently – why have I not published a new latest projected seedings list after last week’s Australian Goldfields Open qualifiers?
The reason for the delay is that the governing body are yet to announce either the ‘cut-off’ dates for the 2015/16 season, or the indicative prize money schedule for the new season, which makes it impossible to prepare an accurate list at this stage. We also do not yet know at what dates prize money earned during the 2013/14 season will be removed, something that is not always as obvious as it might sound.
While I could take a guess, on balance I think that it would be irresponsible to do so at this stage and so hopefully the requisite information will be available in the coming days.
The good news is that I understand the reason for the delay to be that the governing body are in the process of finalising prize money increases for early round matches at particular events, something that will no doubt be a welcome development in particular for players further down the ranking list.
