When at a snooker tournament and not actually watching or playing snooker, high on the list of priorities comes the all-important issue of food. For On Q Promotions duo Dominic Dale and Andy Hicks, their eatery of choice has proved to be the Polash Indian Restaurant, Abbeymead Gloucester who sponsored the duo during the recent PTC event at the South West Snooker Academy…
The arrangement came about when Dominic and Andy chose the Polash as their favourite eatery when playing at the Academy, Dale having recently relocated from Vienna to live in Gloucester while Hicks is also a frequent visitor, using SWSA as his practice base and working on Coaching Projects at the Academy. Hicks recently passed his WPBSA Coaching Exams under the tutelage of Terry Griffiths and Steve Davis.
The Polash owner and staff are keen snooker fans and so deal was struck for Dominic and Andy to wear the logo on their waistcoats during the recent PTC2 event staged at the Academy.
The popular restaurant is closing down at the end of August for a total re-fit but will be open again in good time for PTC 7 at the Academy.
An SWSA spokesman said “We’re delighted to be working with local companies, and helping them enhance their profile in the community.
“Many of our players and the thousands of visitors to SWSA use local restaurants and The Polash has become established as a firm favourite.”
