2012/13 – Tour Qualification
As an amateur, China’s Cao Xinlong entered three Asian Tour events, winning four matches in total and finishing high enough on the Asian Order of Merit to earn a two-year main tour card from the start of the 2013/14 season.
2013/14
Cao was to endure a tough debut season as a professional, winning just two matches outside of the Asian Tour, while reaching the third round of two events during that particular series.
Perhaps his best performance was to come at the World Championship qualifiers, where he defeated Jamie O’Neill in a deciding frame, before then himself losing 10-9 to the experienced Peter Lines in the second round.
Cao finished the season ranked 115th.
2014/15
Cao failed to win a match outside of the Asian Tour during 2014/15 and having not competed at an event following the 2015 Welsh Open was relegated from the main tour at the end of the season.
