Career Summary

With the exception of Tony Drago, Terry Camilleri is currently Malta’s most prominent snooker personality and has been refereeing professionally for over a decade now since his introduction in 2001.

In total he has so far been in charge of two ranking event finals, first that of his home event as Shaun Murphy won the Malta Cup in 2007 with a 9-4 win over Ryan Day, and more recently Ricky Walden’s 10-8 defeat of Ronnie O’Sullivan in the 2008 Shanghai Masters. In addition he was also the man in the middle for the non-ranking 2008 Malta Cup final as Murphy again won, this time against Irishman Ken Doherty.

During his career to date Terry has been lucky enough to have officiated three maximum breaks, two at the Crucible Theatre during the World Championship. The first of these came in 2008 as Ali Carter made his first ever 147 against Peter Ebdon at the quarter-final stage while just a year later it was Stephen Hendry’s turn, also in the last eight against Shaun Murphy.

His third max came several years earlier at the Grand Prix when Jamie Cope completed the break during his match against Michael Holt.

In February 2012 Terry took charge of his third ranking event final at the Welsh Open in Newport between Mark Selby and Ding Junhui.

In December 2012, Terry presided over his fourth 147 event, made by John Higgins during his 6-5 defeat to Mark Davis at the UK Championship in York.

Shortly after this, Terry was selected to officiate the 2013 Masters final, between Mark Selby and Neil Robertson at the Alexandra Palace, London.
