Number 1

  • NO CHANGE

Although there was a slim chance that Mark Selby could have lost his place at the top of the world ranking list prior to the action in Daqing, his run to the semi-finals, combined with Stuart Bingham’s last 64 defeat to Yu Delu ensured that his reign as number one dating back to February 2015 continues.

Selby

Heading to the UK Championship, again there is a possibility that Stuart could overhaul the Jester, but nothing less than the title would be enough to bring the world champion into contention.

Behind him, Neil Robertson climbs to third as Ding Junhui drops six places to ninth following the removal of the prize money earned from his victories in India and China back in 2013. Robertson however could find himself suffering a similar drop at the next revision as he will be defending the prize money earned when he won the UK Championship during the same year.

The Top 16

  • NO CHANGE

As was the case following the second revision, there is no change to the top 16 with qualifying defeats for Mark Davis and Robert Milkins ensuring that they would not be able to close the gap to the likes of Michael White and Stephen Maguire ahead.

Looking ahead to the next revision following the UK Championship however, the battle is set to intensify as those in and around the top 16 fight for the final few places at January’s Masters tournament.

Gilbert1

17-32

IN

  • David Gilbert
  • Ben Woollaston

OUT

  • Peter Ebdon
  • Xiao Guodong

Two changes to the top 32 this cut-off, with Daqing finalist David Gilbert rising 19 places to what is easily a career-high position of 21st.

Joining him back inside the top 32 is Leicester’s Ben Woollaston, who enjoyed a productive couple of weeks in China, earning £13,750 across the two events to climb three places from his position after the Shanghai Masters.

Just dropping out is Peter Ebdon, who was defending prize money earned from his quarter-final run at the 2013 International Championship, while Xiao Guodong also continues to tumble down the rankings as the loss of prize money from his successful run in 2013 is compounded by a poor start to the current season.

33-64

IN

  • Tian Pengfei
  • Zhou Yuelong

OUT

  • Anthony Hamilton
  • Peter Lines

For the first (but certainly not the last) time this season we have seen changes to the top 64 with Chinese duo Tian Pengfei and Zhou Yuelong having risen at the expense of Anthony Hamilton and Peter Lines.

The reason for Tian’s rise is of course obvious, the 28-year-old having reached the final of the recent Ruhr Open, as well as the last 16 in Daqing move up an impressive 20 places.

Zhou meanwhile continues to impress as the tour’s youngest player and up to 62nd position already with no prize money to defend this season, he now has every chance to cement his position not only on tour, but well inside the top 64.

For Anthony Hamilton and Peter Lines however, difficult times as the veteran duo both face a battle if they are to stay on tour beyond the end of this season, particularly as they will now receive theoretically tougher draws at tournament having fallen out of this bracket.

The next seeding revision will come on the 7th December 2015 following the venue stages of the UK Championship.
