At 5-2 down earlier this afternoon, Mark Selby looked to be all at sea but tonight he leaves Berlin as the 2015 German Masters champion following a 9-7 victory against Shaun Murphy, avenging his defeat to the Magician at last month’s Masters.
Mark takes home the top prize of €80,000, which is also enough to see him reclaim the world number one spot for the first time since December…
Good friends they might be off the table, but tomorrow Shaun Murphy and Mark Selby will be the best of enemies, as they clash in the final of the 2015 German Masters following semi-final victories yesterday.
We have already enjoyed a number of memorable matches during the 2014/15 snooker season, but with all four matches this evening going to deciding frames, including a 147 break for Judd Trump and plenty of drama aside, tonight proved to be a session that will live long in the memory for those who had a ticket for the quarter-finals of the 2015 German Masters.

Following the latest seedings revision after the UK Championship yesterday, World Snooker have today published the draw and format for the German Masters qualifiers, which run from 17-19 December at Wigan’s Robin Park venue.
When thinking of snooker in Germany, it is impossible to do so without thinking of Eurosport commentator and tournament MC Rolf Kalb, who over the past 30 years has done more than probably anybody else to help promote the game in the country.
