It is that time of year again, as the final main tour places for the 2015/16 season are claimed at a mix of amateur events, both international and also Q School.

Following his defeat to Barry Hawkins at the World Championship yesterday, Mark Allen gave an interesting press conference in which amongst other things, he discussed how much he is looking forward to working with Terry Griffiths again next season.
But who will join him in that association from this summer?
While April has seen all eyes focused upon the action here in Sheffield, a couple of weeks ago there was also an important event taking place in Beijing as Thailand’s Akani Songsermsawad claimed victory at this year’s Asian u-21 Championship.
The conclusion of this year’s World Championship will mark not only the end of another long season, but also the end of an era in snooker as On Q Promotions will cease to act as a snooker management company.
With founder Paul Mount, his daughter Sarah and the rest of the team at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester having helped me a great deal and more importantly, having played a real part in the sport over the past six years, I could not let their exit go unnoticed and so I caught up with Paul to look back at their time involved with snooker…
Today marks the first ‘middle Thursday’ of the World Championship where as is tradition, the first round will come to an end and the second round gets underway.
