Away from the sensible action at the Crucible on Tuesday, there was a worrying amount of excitement caused by a table considerably smaller than 12×6, with the introduction of a mini-pool table next to the fridge here in the media room.

Missed Maximums For Ding, O’Sullivan
Although day four at the Crucible was the first this year not to see a deciding frame, it was not without its fair share of drama as both Ding Junhui and Ronnie O’Sullivan threatened to make maximum breaks early in the day.

Hull, Carrington On Top 64 Climb
Following their victories yesterday at Ponds Forge in the final qualifying round of this year’s World Championship, both Robin Hull and Stuart Carrington ensured that they will end the season ranked inside the top 64, crucially for both players as they will now retain the prize money won during the past two seasons and in Robin’s case, avoid relegation from the tour itself.

So this is it, after all of the talk and all of the hype, tomorrow sees the start of the 2015 World Championship – not at the Crucible of course, but at Ponds Forge for the start of the qualifying rounds.
