Wuxi Classic Qualifiers 2012: Day One News
This morning saw the new season get underway with the start of the 2012 Wuxi Classic qualifiers from the Academy in Sheffield. It was to be a mixed day for India as Aditya Mehta progressed, but Pankaj Advani fell to Chinese youngster Chen Zhe, while veterans Rod Lawler and Adrian Gunnell were among the other winners…

A Look Ahead To 2012/13
So here we go again. With the dust having barely settled following Ronnie O’Sullivan’s triumph at the Crucible Theatre less than a month ago, it is now time to do it all over again as the new season gets underway tomorrow with the qualifiers for the Wuxi Classic in Sheffield. Selby Takes Wuxi Classic, World Cup Starts Tomorrow
It was a predictably hard-fought final in Wuxi but Mark Selby has ended his recent run of final defeats with a 9-7 victory against Ali Carter to win the Wuxi Classic this afternoon. The action does not stop there however as Mark and Ali will now team up for the 2011 World Cup which starts tomorrow over in Bangkok…
All-Square in Wuxi Final
Eight frames played in the final of today’s Wuxi Classic between World Cup team-mates Mark Selby and Ali Carter and the two remain locked at 4-4. Early on it was Mark who had the upper hand, moving 3-1 ahead at the interval before the next two frames were shared but it was Ali who finished the stronger, taking the last two of the session.
The action resumes shortly although unfortunately for viewers here in the UK, Eurosport will not be showing live coverage of the second session with highlights to be broadcast later this evening.

Wuxi Classic, General Cup International Discussion
Today sees the start of the Wuxi Classic over in China while the General Cup International comes to a conclusion with a final contested between defending champion Ricky Walden and former World Championship semi-finalist Stephen Lee. You may be able to watch it by clicking this link although I am not sure whether it has been working during the event as I have unfortunately been at work and missed it all!
I did however notice that a few of you were providing updates in the previous General Cup thread and so if anyone wants to do so again on either of these tournaments, please feel free below.
