Early Career
Lyu’s first experience as a professional came during the 2012/13 season as he entered three Asian Tour events, but it was during the same series of events in 2013/14 that he was to enjoy greater success.
Most notably, he won five matches to reach the semi-finals of the AT2 event, losing out to eventual winner Ju Reti, while winning two further matches during the Asian Tour.
As a result, Lyu was to finish high enough on the Asian Order of Merit to earn a two-year tour card from the 2014/15 season.
2014/15
Lyu’s first season as a professional was to be a difficult one as he won just four matches in total, his best result being a 5-2 defeat of Dominic Dale at the Wuxi Classic qualifiers in May 2014.
A 10-8 defeat to Matt Selt at the World Championship qualifiers would see him finish the campaign ranked 112th.
