Early Career

A finalist in the 2012 African national championship, although the Egyptian lost out 6-3 to Peter Francisco, following Peter’s decision not to accept his place on the tour, Mohamed Khairy was awarded a two-year professional place beginning in 2012/13.

2012/13

Unfortunately for Mohamed, the dreaded ‘visa issues’ were to prevent him from competing on the main tour until the year’s final event, the 2013 Haikou World Open qualifiers, where he would lose 5-1 to Thailand’s Dechawat Poomjaeng.

He would enter three subsequent events during the second half of 2012/13, however he was not able to claim a maiden ranking match win.

2013/14

Mohamed’s second season on tour would see him contest eight events in all, winning two matches against Passakorn Suwannawat and Rod Lawler at the 2013 Shanghai Masters qualifiers.

Finishing 121st in the rankings, Khairy was therefore relegated from the main tour at the end of his two-year card.
