Closing In On The Cut: October 2015
Down to the last 32 at the International Championship and we now know that Mark Selby will remain as world number one following the end of the week in Daqing, but there do still remain ranking issues to be determined ahead of this season’s third mid-season seedings revision.

Ding Wins In Haining
Ding Junhui is a tournament winner once again as he defeated Ricky Walden 4-3 to win the 2015 Haining Open earlier today.

Closing In On The Cut: September 2015
It feels like a long time since we last saw the players in ranking event action and indeed it has been, as over two months have passed since July’s Australian Goldfields Open.
Next week though the professionals will be back in action at the 2015 Shanghai Masters, with Stuart Bingham looking to defend the title that he won 12 months ago and following the event will also come the second mid-season seeding revision of the current season.

Earlier today, the draw was released (thanks to @snookerthailand.net) for the upcoming SangSom 6 Red World Championship, as Stephen Maguire returns to Bangkok to defend the title that he on six months ago.
2015/16 – Stories to Follow
While the wait goes on for information as to the various seeding cut-offs and other ranking information for the 2015/16 season, the action is now very much underway with the qualifiers for the Australian Goldfields Open this week in Crawley.
As was the case last year, it is interesting then to take a look at the current world ranking list and try to pick out a few potential stories that may well develop during the next months.
After all, already a year ago it was possible to see that Ding Junhui would have an excellent chance of claiming the world number one ranking (which he did in December), while players such as Stephen Maguire and Nigel Bond would have work to do in order to stay inside the top 16 and top 64 respectively…
Ding To Work With Griffiths From 2015/16 Season
While all eyes at the Crucible were on the World Championship final between Stuart Bingham and Shaun Murphy a week ago, World Snooker also announced via Twitter that Ding Junhui will work with former world champion and renowned coach Terry Griffiths from the start of next season.
