Down to the last 32 at the International Championship and we now know that Mark Selby will remain as world number one following the end of the week in Daqing, but there do still remain ranking issues to be determined ahead of this season’s third mid-season seedings revision.

Three days down, two to go at the third and final Asian Tour event of the 2014/15 and it is crunch time in respect of the race for all important places on the Asian Order of Merit, with both Players Championship Grand Finals and main tour places on offer for those in action this week.

Next Tuesday sees the start of the 2015 Xuzhou Open, the third and crucially final, event of this season’s Asian Tour, a significant milestone during this 2014/15 season as the final Asian Order of Merit will be confirmed…
So this is it, just one more event to go before the seedings for the 2013 World Championship are finalised and following the PTC Grand Finals in Galway last week, the position is now somewhat clearer, though much can still change.

It feels like yesterday since the previous seedings revision following the International Championship earlier this month, but already the next cut-off is moving ever closer, coming after December’s UK Championship.
In fact, for the majority of players on tour, this week’s UK Championship qualifiers will be their last chance to add points to their tally for a crucial cut-off, which will determine the seedings for all of the remaining tournaments this season except the World Championship…
