It is just minutes since John Higgins won the Grand Prix but already the World Snooker website has updated their rankings and it would appear that Graeme Dott has now been awarded first round points for both this tournament AND the previous event in Shanghai…
As readers will be aware, it caused some controversy when Graeme was initially not credited with his points from Shanghai, but it would now appear that he has been awarded this points as he is down as having earned 2,275 points this season. This would be made up of 700 for his defeat to Dave Harold in Northern Ireland, 700 for Shanghai and 825 here.
This is a timely boost for Graeme, though he remains well down the provisional list at 45 and will hope to be back playing again as soon as possible…
