Unfortunately the format of the draw provided by World Snooker is as you can see, not the best! Notable ties early on however do include world champion Neil Robertson squaring off against PTC4 winner Barry Pinches, Martin Gould against Graeme Dott and Ryan Day against the in-form Peter Lines.
Ding Junhui meanwhile has finally entered one of these events, perhaps a decision based on the rustiness that he has displayed so far this season in the Premier League and the Shanghai Masters, while Reanne Evans looks to get a win on the board against Andy Hicks.
The most eye-catching tie of the lot however is that between Ali Carter and Matthew Stevens, a re-match of their clash earlier today which saw Ali come back from behind to steal a 5-4 win. Ken Doherty versus Fergal O’Brien is also a re-match of a match from this year’s Shanghai Masters as Fergal looks to gain some measure of revenge against the 1997 world champion.
