Form is temporary, class is permanent, former Masters champions Ronnie O’Sullivan and Mark Williams are both through to the last eight of the 2010 edition following good wins over Neil Robertson and Ali Carter respectively.
Neither had it easy, indeed Ronnie actually went 3-0 down early on, but he recovered with the help of two centuries to end Neil’s hopes. The Williams/Carter match meanwhile was a strange affair, starting off brilliantly as they went into the interval level at 2-2 after just 45 minutes, before the standard dropped somewhat by the conclusion, particularly from Ali Carter.
Through to a tie with Shaun Murphy, hopefully Williams will not be affected by the neck injury that he sustained during a car accident last night. Incidentally Stephen Hendry who was also in the car also suffered minor injuries, but thankfully nothing more than that!
