As I posted the other day, this week sees snooker tournaments take place in both Beijing and Bangkok. Click below for the details of where you can find up to date results and group standings…
First up, the Sangsom 6-Red World Championship over in Bangkok which has already seen a number of shock results during the first couple of days, although most of the big names look likely to progress in any case. The exception to this is 1997 world champion Ken Doherty who has lost already to Scott MacKenzie, Mark Williams and Issara Kachaiwong. As an aside it is good to see the previously retired MacKenzie back at the table having presumably been tempted back by the changes made following Barry Hearn’s return to the sport.
The best place to go for all of the latest results and draws for the tournament would appear to be the Thailand snooker website which you can access here.
Regarding the BTV Cup over in Beijing meanwhile, the place to be for all of the latest news is unsurprisingly the 110sport website which you can access by clicking here.
So far the event has seen victories for both Stephen Maguire and Ali Carter as expected, but surprise defeats for both Stephen Hendry and Mark Allen who are perhaps tellingly playing in their first events of the new season. With two to qualify from two groups of five however, both have time to turn the situation around and it will be interesting to see whether they can do so…
