This week has seen the continuation of the final event of this season’s Q School and tomorrow is set to be the biggest day so far as rounds three and four are played to a conclusion. Due to a combination of work and many hours spent updating my player profiles I have not got the time to post a report on the round two action but you can as ever access the latest scores over at WWW Snooker by clicking here.
Names to watch? Kurt Maflin will take some stopping in the top quarter I suspect, although the likes of Gary Wilson, Mitchell Mann and Martin O’Donnell are all talented players.
As it appeared on paper prior to the start of event, quarter two remains tough to call as with four former professionals as well as strong amateurs such as Ian Burns and Stuart Carrington, the draw remains wide open.
Section three again looks to be tough, David Gray, Lee Walker, Craig Steadman and Alex Davies standing out in particular.
At the foot of the draw meanwhile David Gilbert will be hoping that it will be fourth time lucky following final round defeats during the two previous events, although again it will not be easy with the likes of Kyren Wilson and Jak Jones lurking. First however he must overcome Bobby Cruickshanks after the Scot completed an impressive victory against Lee Spick today.
Anyway, good luck to all involved as the field is reduced to the final eight…
