As those of you who follow the rankings as closely as I do will no doubt be fully aware, the seedings revision following today’s International Championship final will now be used to determine the seedings for the 2013 UK Championship.

The list that you will now see on the ‘latest projected seedings’ page is that will take us through to the next mid-season seedings revision, which will take place following the UK Championship in December 2013. In addition to the points previously removed from the 2011/12 season, I have now removed the points from the PTC9, PTC10 and UK Championship events of 2011, which will no longer be used following this season’s UK Championship.

The seedings at the end of this revision will then be used to determine the seedings for the Haikou World Open and German Masters, as well as the invited players for the Shoot Out and mostly importantly, the 2014 Masters.

With Ronnie O’Sullivan set to play in the Masters as defending world champion, the top 15 players in the rankings following the UK Championship will join him at the Alexandra Palace. Following his semi-final run at the International Championship, Joe Perry has moved himself up above Ali Carter into the crucial 15th place, while Graeme Dott, Matthew Stevens and Mark Williams also remain in contention with three events to go.

As ever, all of the twists and turns over the next month will be followed here at PSB, as we progress through one of the most crucial periods of the season…
