Ever since the announcement back in September that the world’s leading snooker players were to form the Snooker Players Association, speculation has been rife as to just who would be involved and how the group would be run. Click below for the latest developments…
It has been announced that six-times world snooker champion and all-round legend of the game Steve Davis has been chosen to lead the organisation as President and represent the views of those within the organisation.

From what I can tell this appears to be a logical move. As the article indicates you cannot question Steve’s love of the game and his passion to help snooker to recapture the glory days of the 1980’s and the 1990’s. He is also one of the most eloquent players in the game and is respected enough among his fellow professionals to be able to get the views of the players across in a clear manner.
Just how much of a voice this organisation will ultimately have remains to be seen but if it can deliver and help to resolve issues such as the scheduling problems that have blighted this season then we can safely say that it has been worth it. Time will tell…
