Many of snooker’s most famous names will return to the Guild Hall in Preston in January for the World Seniors Championship.
The iconic Lancashire venue, which has hosted major tournaments including the UK Championship, has again been selected to host a World Snooker Tour event.
48 hours after losing in the final of the Gdynia Open, Mark Williams has this evening defeated Fergal O’Brien 2-1 to win the 2015 World Seniors Championship in Blackpool.
World Snooker is delighted to announce Betway as the new title sponsor of next week’s Shoot-Out and World Seniors Championship.
The two tournaments will run back-to-back from Monday to Friday at the iconic Blackpool Tower Circus Arena, with every ball televised live by Sky Sports.
As well as the qualifying draw for the German Masters, World Snooker have today also published the qualifying draw for the 2015 World Seniors Championship, the event set to take place over two days in Wigan, immediately after those qualifiers for Germany.
Snooker’s celebrated World Seniors Championship has a brand new qualifying criteria this season, with the age limit reduced from 45 to 40.
Blackpool will stage a sensational week of snooker next March with the World Seniors Championship followed by the dramatic Shoot-Out.
The World Seniors will take place at the Blackpool Tower Circus Arena for the first time, on Monday 2 March and Tuesday 3 March, 2015. Then the Shoot-Out returns to the same venue for the fifth consecutive year, from Wednesday 4 March to Friday 6 March.
Six times world professional champion Steve Davis has tonight defeated Nigel Bond 2-1 in Portsmouth, to become world seniors champion for the first time in 2013 and take home the top prize of £18,000.
