World Championship 2012: Hendry Hits Opening Day Max

Stephen Hendry today ensured that the 2012 World Championship began with a bang as he compiled the 11th maximum break of his career during the seventh frame of his last 32 match against Stuart Bingham. Highlighting a vintage performance from the seven-times Crucible king, the break will earn him the £40,000 rolling maximum prize, in addition to the £10,000 prize on offer at this tournament.

The maximum is Stephen’s third at the Crucible, the tenth here in all, and the 88th in all competition.
